We beat the opposition in the recent RPV Parks Master Plan survey even though the survey question for a skatepark read ” Do you support – oppose – or have no opinion”. That question should have made it clear that we are self funded – that NO taxpayers money will be used for the skateable plaza. It is multi use with a large stage, we are even proposing to build a real public restroom which will end the chemical toilet usage.
SkateparkPV needs more active advocates to insure success in getting permission to build a self funded facility on public land. The recent Rancho Palos Verdes Dog Park at City Hall was approved and built with city funds as a result of the effort of a large number of dog park advocates who where persistent for a long time. With enough people Skateparkpv can achieve success. If dogs can have their own place to run our children should have a place to skate board at no cost to taxpayers.
We have had multiple meetings with Rancho Palos Verdes city staff about permission to build a self funded concrete plaza near the new dog park where the sand volleyball court now exists at city hall. Skatepark PV needs YOUR help in showing the need and overwhelming public support for a local skate board facility.
The RPV City council has voted to make a skate able plaza a part of the city parks master plan. On January 28, 2015 7:00 PM at the Point Vicente Interpretive center we had a very good showing of advocates at the second workshop on the Point Vicente city hall park plans to include the skateparkpv skate able plaza.
View the concept and renderings on the multi use plan page. Breaking wave both ways – skate able down the white water section, wall or curl, lots of quater pipes and features, turquoise and white colored concrete, a 2,000 sq ft skate able stage with acoustic cornice – a smaller stage all skate able – restroom etc.

This site is ideal – very accessible, it is far from houses, has high visibility, can be seen from the street deterring illicit activity, close to the amenities of Golden Cove shopping center, it has similar activities, tennis court, dog park, RC helicopter pad etc.
We are on track for success. Attend a monthly meeting.
Please tell me how heard about skateparkpv.
Thank you,
Jim Parker VP
